Branded gift boxes, bags and wrap laid out for festive gifting

Every year, offices across India send out Diwali gifts to clients, partners and staff. Every year, a lot of those gifts are planned in the last two weeks before the festival, when every printer, box maker and courier is at full stretch. The gifts still go out, but with fewer choices and more stress.

A little planning fixes most of that. Here is how we suggest going about it.

Start with who it’s for

Make a list and split it into groups. Most companies end up with three or four:

  • Key clients. A small number of people who matter a lot. This is where a premium box and a thoughtful item make sense.
  • Wider clients and partners. A good box with a standard set of items.
  • Staff. Often the largest group. Something useful they will actually use.
  • Vendors and service partners. A smaller, simpler gift.

Getting the numbers for each group early makes everything after it easier: the quote, the box sizes and the delivery plan.

Choose the box first

The box is what people see before anything else, and it is where your brand lives. A few options that work well for Diwali:

Then pick what goes inside. Sweets, dry fruit, a diya set, a diary and calendar for the new year, a mug, a tote bag or a desk item. The box should fit the contents well. A small gift rattling around in a large box looks careless.

Brand it without overdoing it

A Diwali gift is a gift first and marketing second. People keep a beautiful box. They throw away a box covered in logos.

What tends to work:

  • Your logo once, well placed, on the lid or as a foil stamp, rather than printed all over.
  • Festive colours that sit alongside your brand colours. Deep reds, golds and maroons work with most brands.
  • A finish that feels special. Gold foil, embossing or spot UV on the lid lifts a plain box a lot.
  • A printed card inside with a short note from your team. Greeting cards are a small cost and get read.
  • Matching gift wrap or a ribbon if the box goes inside a bag.

Plan the delivery, not just the gift

This is where Diwali gifting usually goes wrong. Think about:

  • Where the gifts are going. One office, many offices, clients’ homes, or other cities and countries.
  • Who packs them. Do you want the boxes delivered flat to your office, or packed and ready to hand out?
  • When they need to arrive. Gifts that land after the festival lose most of their effect.

The simple rule is to order early. Boxes, foil and printed cards all take longer to get on to a printer’s schedule in the weeks before Diwali, and couriers are busy too. When you get your quote from us, we confirm the delivery date in writing, once you approve the mockup.

If your list includes clients or teams abroad, we can send there as well. See how we deliver worldwide.

A simple timeline

  1. Decide the groups and numbers.
  2. Pick the box and contents. Ask for a plain sample of the box if you haven’t seen it.
  3. Send us your logo. We set it up for free and send a mockup of the box, card and bag.
  4. Approve the mockup and confirm the delivery date.
  5. Receive, check and send out.

Same gift, every festival

Diwali isn’t the only time companies send gifts. The same box can work for New Year, Eid, Christmas, company anniversaries and client onboarding with a different card or sleeve. Because we keep your artwork on file, a reorder for the next festival is one message.
