Quality first. How we check every job before it leaves.

Colour, paper, alignment, cut and count. What we check on every print and packaging job at Jais Brandworks, and what happens if something is not right.

Most print problems are small. A logo that sits two millimetres off centre. A red that came out a little brown. A box that folds fine on the sample but splits at the corner on the hundredth piece. Small problems still end up in front of your customers, on every table and every delivery bag, for months.

So quality at Jais is less about one big inspection at the end and more about catching things early. Here is what that looks like on a normal job.

1. Before anything is printed: the mockup

Every order starts with a mockup of your logo on the actual product. This is where most mistakes get caught, and they are the cheapest ones to fix.

We check the obvious things, like spelling, the phone number and whether the logo is the latest version. We also check the less obvious ones:

  • Does the logo hold up at this size? A detailed crest that looks good on a letterhead can turn into a blob on a cocktail napkin. If it will, we tell you and suggest a simpler version.
  • Is it in the safe area? Cups taper, boxes fold and bags have gussets. Artwork near an edge or a fold can get cut or bent. We place it where it will actually be seen.
  • Will the colours print the way you expect? Colours on a screen are lit from behind. Ink on paper isn’t. If a colour is likely to shift, especially on kraft paper, we say so before you approve. There is more on this in our guide to kraft and white packaging.

Nothing goes to print until you have seen the mockup and said yes.

2. The material

The right print on the wrong paper still feels cheap. Before a job starts we confirm the stock: the board for a box, the GSM of a bag, the ply of a napkin, the wall of a cup. If you haven’t handled the material before, ask for a plain sample. We send one so you can feel it before you order.

3. During the run: colour and position

Girjashankar has been checking sheets as they come off the press for more than thirty-five years. On a print run we pull sheets and compare them with the approved mockup and the first good sheet. We are looking for:

  • Colour. Is the brand colour where it should be, and does it stay there from the start of the run to the end? Drift is the most common problem in a long run and the easiest to miss if nobody looks.
  • Registration. On a job with more than one colour, each colour has to land exactly on the others. Off-register print looks blurry or has thin gaps at the edges.
  • Position. The logo sits where the mockup said it would.
  • Marks and smudges. Ink set-off, scuffs and stray marks.

If something drifts, the run stops and gets corrected. It is much better to lose a few sheets than to deliver a carton of slightly wrong ones.

4. After printing: cut, fold and finish

A lot can go wrong after the ink is dry. We check that cuts are clean and in the right place, creases fold without cracking, and glued boxes and bags hold. Foil should be sharp and fully stuck down. Lamination shouldn’t bubble. Embossing should be crisp. (If you are deciding on finishes, read when foil, emboss and spot UV are worth it.)

For packaging that will be used under pressure, like burger boxes on delivery or double-wall cups with hot coffee, we fold and handle finished pieces the way your staff will.

5. Count and packing

Then the quantity is counted against your order, the cartons are packed so corners and print surfaces are protected, and each carton is labelled. A beautifully printed luxury bag that arrives creased isn’t a beautifully printed bag any more.

If something isn’t right

Sometimes it still happens. A sheet gets through that shouldn’t have. A shade comes out off. If we find it, we tell you before it ships and fix it at our cost. If you find it after delivery, send us a photo on WhatsApp and we sort it out quickly.

The person who quoted you is the same person you talk to then. You don’t have to explain your order to someone new.

Why we work this way

It is mostly self-interest. Jobs at Jais have come from word of mouth since 1989, and nobody recommends a printer whose cups came out the wrong colour. Reorders matter too. A client who gets the same quality on the tenth order as on the first doesn’t go looking for another vendor.

If you want to see the process from your side, read how an order works, or send us your logo on WhatsApp at +91 98210 32163 and we’ll start with a mockup.
